How to extend the life of your towels?
The lifespan of a cloth napkin depends on several factors, including the quality of the fabric, frequency of use, care, and other factors. Generally, a good-quality cloth napkin can last for many years, even decades, if properly cared for. Here are some tips for caring for your cloth napkins:
- Care: Before use, soak for 12 hours in cold water or machine wash cold. Wash your towels regularly afterward, but avoid excessive use of harsh detergents or fabric softeners, as this can damage the fabric fibers. Use mild detergents and follow the recommended washing instructions on the label.
- Washing Temperature: Avoid washing your towels at very high temperatures, as this can cause premature wear of the fabric. Use warm or cold water for washing.
- Drying: Avoid tumble drying your towels, as this can make them rough and damage the fibers. Instead, air dry them instead.
- Rotation: Use multiple towels in rotation to reduce wear and tear on a single towel.
- Stains: Treat stains quickly to prevent them from setting into the fabric. Remove stains with gall soap or Marseille soap. If the stain is stubborn, sprinkle with Terre de Sommières , then leave for 1 hour.
By following these tips and taking proper care of your cloth napkins, you should be able to extend their lifespan by several years or more. However, keep in mind that natural wear and tear can still occur over time, especially if the napkins are used extensively.
We wish you a beautiful love story with your beautiful towels.
